Ryukyu Okinawan Tsuboya Kiln Nagakubi Bottle
This small nagakubi, a long neck style, bottle was assumed to be used for offering liquor to shrines. Gentle and rich caramel glaze, along with dark iron glaze, show an unpredictable beauty of the old craftsmanship. Th slightly flattered top creates an elegant accent and a balance of this small bottle. While there is a small tip at the foot, for a rare piece like this bottle, it should still be considered as a complete piece. It will make an elegant 'ichirin-zashi' , a single flower arrangement vase.
Ca. 1800s. 2 1/8" diameter 4 3/4" tall.
