Shop Apron 'Takahashi-Miso Manufacture'

This lovely apron (called maekake in Japanese) is probably from the mid Showa era (1926-1988). This type of apron was/is worn by employees of shops or small companies for advertising purposes. The apron is made from heavy weight cotton and it is dyed in deep indigo. There is a pair of ties attached on the top. The company produced Japanese soybean paste (miso) and the company was located in Tennoji, Osaka. It is still wearable and in excellent condition. Width : approximately 16"
