Kaga-Yuzen Crane Motif Tomesode Formal Kimono

KIMONO #415 - $320.00

This simple yet very elegant formal tomesode kimono is probably from the early 1900's. The kimono is made from fine chirimen silk and it depicts large cranes flying over pine trees (both auspicious symbols). These beautiful designs on the kimono were executed by Kaga Yuzen hand-painting technique and the entire design was surrounded by a typical Kaga Yuzen gradation effect. The dominant colors you see on this kimono are grays, white, tea green, and brown against the black background. The kimono has a red lining. A minimum amount of embroidery is also found on the design. There are five family crests in the front and the back of the kimono. It is in excellent condition.
