Tohoku Asa Jofu Hemp Men's Katabira Ikat Kimono
A superior asa hemp/linen katabira, (unlined kimono for summer use) from the Tohoku region of Japan (more likely Ojiya area of Niigata), very understated and classic fine kasuri pattern in black, crispy asa texture becomes just like silk when its fibers are so refined, the smaller patterns require the higher weaving techniques , a truly chic and elegant piece. Ca. early 1900s.
