Men's Formal Haori No-Theater Play

MENS HAORI #207 - $280.00

This men's haori is probably from the end of Taisho era (1912-1926) or the early Showa era (1926-1988). The haori is made from fine silk and the exterior is solid black with five family crests. The lining is made from satin silk elegantly brocaded with a scene from the traditional Japanese Noh play. There is a large stage in simple yet elegant form and the main Noh figure is in its traditional costume and mask. Three Gosho dolls and a cloud-like gold abstract design surround the stage. The main colors on the lining are gold, silvery taupe, charcoal gray, brown, and dark blue green against the espresso /olive background. The design on the lining is relatively rare. It is in excellent condition. .
