Sashiko Furoshiki Wrapping Cloth
MISC 209 $240.00
This lovely large size furoshiki (wrapping cloth) is probably from the early 1900s to the mid 1900s. The furoshiki is made from hand-span cotton and dyed with indigo. The hand stitching (sashiko) designs "hishigata" pattern (diamond shape) over the three corners of the furoshiki. Those corners are also reinforced with tiny dense stitches because of frequent use. The forth corner is designed with a partial chrysanthemum and a business logo. There are some light discolorations on the furoshiki due to the age and use, but otherwise it is in excellent condition.
