Tsutsugaki Japanese Flags and Rare Yellow Dye
Graphically quite dynamic tsutsugaki fabric with rare Japanese flags crossed as if a butterfly motif, dyed with very unusual yellow pigment, assumed to have been a part of large banner, indigo dyed, some old patches, repairs, and some small holes and tears created over the times. Ca. late 1800 to early 1900s.
