Taisho Era Damask Silk Haori
WOMAN'S HAORI #180 - $280.00
Haoris are coats worn over kimonos. Most are lined with colorful, patterned silk fabric. Generally, haoris are worn open in the front and not closed and overlapped like kimonos. This exquisite haori is probably from the early Taisho era (1912-1926). The haori is made from fine damask silk and has a dynamic floral pattern over the entire haori. The dominant colors on the exterior are orange, purple, mustard yellow, tea-green, and black. The haori is lined with red damask silk. It is excellent condition and a rare piece. Please note: due to the difficulty of reproducing the color purple, the detail image is close to the actual color of the textile. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
